myocarditis case

no angio

Technically difficult study.

Normal estimated left ventricular ejection fraction-54%.

Regional wall motion abnormality-basal inferolateral.

Normal LV cavity size and mild-moderate increase in LV thickness.

Normal right ventricular size and reduced function.

No hemodynamically significant valvular abnormalities.

Based on the IVC, the RA pressure is elevated.

Pericardial effusion-small, circumferential.

1. Normal left ventricular systolic function, LVEF ~ 57% using biplane long-axis views.
     A. Normal LV volumes.
     B. Marked diffuse myocardial edema throughout the myocardium.
     C. Mild to moderate concentric LVH - likely on the basis of intense edema.
2. Normal right ventricular systolic function, assessed visually.
     A. Normal RV volumes.
3. Delayed enhancement assessment not performed because the patient aborted the study.
4. Small circumferential pericardial effusion.
5. Moderate bilateral pleural effusion.
